The Time is Now - Warren Barfield

I cut my teeth, on the back of an old church pew
I learned to walk in the ways of light and truth
And I was told not to speak til I was spoken to
I heard it preached, what I should and I should not do
And the choir sang
Woh oh oh oh oh oh oh Woh oh oh oh oh oh oh

I tried to be a good boy but I ain't a boy no more
I've seen somethings that a man just can't ignore
And this world's gone see what I am standing for
I've kept my peace, I can't hold my tongue anymore

You can't buy my silence, you can't steal my voice
You can't keep me quiet, I will bring the noise
Try to beat me down, tell me to shut my mouth
But there's a time to speak and the time is now
Woh oh oh oh oh oh oh
Woh oh oh oh oh oh oh

The squeaky wheel is always getting greased
Well, I've been sitting still
Park here on the side of the street
Always tip-toeing trying not to wake the beast
Oh but here I come
All you monsters had better run from me

You can't buy my silence, you can't steal my voice
You can't keep me quiet, I will bring the noise
Try to beat me down, tell me to shut my mouth
But there's a time to speak and the time is now
Ooh It's the time and the time is now
Woh oh oh oh oh oh oh
Woh oh oh oh oh oh oh

You can't buy my silence, you can't steal my voice
You can't keep me quiet, I will bring the noise
Try to beat me down, tell me to shut my mouth
But there's a time to speak and the time is now

You can't buy my silence, you can't steal my voice
You can't keep me quiet, I will bring the noise
Try to beat me down, tell me to shut my mouth
But there's a time to speak and the time is now
Woh oh oh oh oh oh oh
Woh oh oh oh oh oh oh
Woh oh oh oh oh oh oh
Woh oh oh oh oh oh oh

  2. I hear your words. They sound true to heart. Because our long ago brother took that bite we all feel that part.

But stand tall and stand true. He is by your side. May your words fall on those who listen. May your prayers come true and save lives.

Remember God sent you an angel and you know his name. Use him for good, have mercy and your love you will find again.

Sometimes the Lord givuth and sometimes the Lord takeith away. Just be like Jobe and Love him all the same.

For he is your creator. He knows all your thoughts, he made you like he is, so love him more than you hate your loss.

I hope you find piece. I hope your pain brings you gain. I remember the main singer of Creed said in a radio interview that he wrote his best music in a cold and empty appartment on the floor because he had no furniture with a broken heart.
his girl friend had left him with nothing and he had lost his job. I thank he latter relised that God had to do that to him to make him who he became today.

It's been years since I have had a broken heart, but I remember it well. sometimes I open that door in my mind and pass threw just to see how lucky I am today.

  4. So stupid that this is on a christian website xD That means christians are just too dumb to understand the song. It's actually an anti-religion song.

  5. I wouldn't rush to call people stupid. Warren Barfield is a Christian musician.

  6. So what's the meaning of this song, since he's clearly Christian. Is it about religious corruption?

  7. He's a christian singer... but this song is toted by several atheist groups and atheist youtube channels as their battle theme. It's about christian corruption, which many American atheists see is being ignored across America. As far as I know those who are using it, are doing so with permission, since many have thousands of followers and no one is slamming their videos off youtube for it. So yeah he is christian, bUT as a business christian he's been kind enough to share it with non christians.

  8. May be sung by a christian singer, but atheists relate to it so much, ' I learned to walk in the ways of light and truth
And I was told not to speak til I was spoken to
I heard it preached, what I should and I should not do' alot of us grew up like this, non-believers were seen as crazy people, some people still think we are, and through all that we still stood true to what we believe/disbelieve in. that is why Atheism Is Unstoppable.

  9. This is for all of those who need a step in the right direction. So many are lost and confused by all the different religions and their rules. We grow up in a world where you are told so many things about right and wrong it is hard to understand. God is not a religion, nor a rule. He is all and everything whether you see it and feel it or not. Those who understand will know it when they hear the words of your brothers and sisters.

  10. This song is about the political correctness that is suppressing our faith, we are allowing them to keep us quiet while we should be speaking out and carrying the word of Jesus to all creation as He told us to do. But we have been careful not upset the PC crowd as we would not want to offend anyone with our faith. Yet their faith and view points are shoved down our throats. This song is to inspire us to step out and not allow the enemy to keep us down or quiet any longer.

  11. I think this song is telling all of us; believers and non-believers in God. That we all should not be silent when we witness abuse. Not turn our eyes, heads and shoulders when injustice is in front of us. To speak out and use our voice to uncover the truth of evil people. People that use the good to accomplished evil deeds. Uncover the mask of all covert narcissistic abusers..

  12. Amen To anonymous from Feb 9, 2016! My thoughts exactly. As Christians we are losing more & more of our freedoms and have stood quiet too long. When I hear this song it invokes a feeling of courage & power to stand for my faith in Jesus no matter what anyone says about me.

  13. This song is a call to action for anyone who feels that it's time to take a stand against the enemies of free speech.

Stand up for what you believe and don't let anyone bully or censor you.
