I wrote "I'm Letting Go" pretty soon after moving to Nashville and away from home for the first time. I was feeling the weight of all I left behind, but at the same time, I felt an excitement like I had never known. I knew God was calling me to dive in full force to this new life, but that required me to let go of my expectations for the future and to trust that God would be with me through it all.
I said "goodbye" to the old me who was afraid of change and haven't looked back since. "It feels like I'm falling, but that's what it's like to believe..." —Francesca Battistelli
But my feet have finally left the ledge
Like an acrobat
There’s no turning back
Chorus
I’m letting go of the life I planned for me and my dreams
Losing control of my destiny
Feels like I’m falling and that’s what it’s like to believe
So I’m letting go
This is a giant leap of faith
Trusting and trying to embrace
The fear of the unknown
Beyond my comfort zone
Chorus
I’m letting go of the life I planned for me and my dreams
Losing control of my destiny
Feels like I’m falling and that’s what it’s like to believe
So I’m letting go
Giving into your gravity
Knowing You are holding me
I’m not afraid
Chorus
Ooooh... I’m letting go of the life I planned for me and my dreams
Losing control of my destiny
Feels like I’m falling and that’s what it’s like to believe yeah
Feels like I’m falling and this is the life for me
And I'm letting go
Ooh yeah...
Feels like I’m falling and that’s what it’s like to believe yeah
Feels like I’m falling and this is the life for me
